This beautiful family chose Smith Rock State Park because of it’s natural beauty! They wanted to document their kids true selves and authentic personality in each image. This is when I knew they’d be my ideal client! There was tons of playing, laughing, exploring and dusty shoes, knees and faces when the day session was over (that’s when you know it was a true success). Sometimes a photo session at Smith Rock can make parents feel a little nervous due to the heights and cliff edges. But, as long as you make sure to follow the rules and make good choices, this location can be a perfect spot for family photos in Central Oregon. Things to consider when choosing Smith Rock for your Photoshoot

There are a few things to consider before choosing Smith Rock as your session location.

• Stay on the Paths. The paths are clearly marked for a reason and meant to keep to. The terrain in and around Smith Rock state park is incredibly sensitive to erosion by foot traffic off trail. It’s important we respect the rules of the park and only shoot in and around the clearly marked trails.
• Don’t forget to pay to park! This is a beautiful location for many to visit and a small parking fee per vehicle helps maintain this gorgeous spot. It’s not a lot to ask to enjoy the beauty that is surrounding Bend Oregon.
• Dogs allowed on leash. Having a dog in Oregon is the dream! They are welcome just about anywhere you go and nearly everyone you encounter loves them! But, it is incredibly important to still remain respectful to other park visitors + the park itself. Keep your dog on a leash and don’t forget the poop bags!
