Downtown Bend, OR Senior Session with Abby

What I love most about being a photographer is following the people I meet through all the stages of life: engagement, wedding, maternity, family, and senior sessions! All these types of special photography capture important moments at different periods of life, and I’ll never say I have a favorite! They’re all too amazing. And this particular amazing senior session was with beautiful Abby, incorporating how special soccer has been in her life, and highlighting all the most beautiful parts of life in Central Oregon. 

I really wanted to give Abby the most amazing session. She is an incredibly special girl who I met back in the fall of 2019 when I began coaching as a part of the staff for the Crescent Valley girls soccer team. She was a crazy talented freshman on varsity with a personality and enthusiasm for the team larger than life! Despite being one of the youngest, she was one of the most welcoming and friendly players. Leaving coaching and moving to Bend was so tough. I love so many of those girls with all my heart and coaching was such a huge part of my life. Getting to take senior photos for past players has been such a continued joy in this new phase of my life, and Abby was no exception!

Making Your Senior Session Fun!

Abby’s senior session was fun, carefree, and above all, meaningful! You don’t have to go through the motions simply for a yearbook photo, or a pic to put on your grad announcements. You deserve to savor the moment, and truly commemorate all the hard work of your high school years. 

Your senior session is a way to preserve your memories from this time, so making them personal and unique to you is a must! For Abby, this meant that soccer was a huge part of the session. Her passion, drive and skill is nothing like i’ve ever seen. She inspires me on the daily with her workouts, games, and personal drills (showing up hours before and staying hours after practice), so it was a joy to make this part of the shoot!

Abby also knew that incorporating her love for the outdoors was a must for her session. Since she’ll be moving to Montana in the fall of 2023 for college, we took the opportunity to highlight the beauty of Oregon in her senior photos! We took her photos at Sparks Lake, in downtown Bend, and Sawyer Park. This gave us a variety of backgrounds to work with, and allowed us to visit some well-loved spots in my area!

Abby also had her family jump into her session towards the end. She told me that her family has been her biggest cheerleader since day one, so she wanted them to be part of this moment! They even brought their pug into the shoot, which was so fun for me as your resident dog-loving photographer!
