Alexis & Vance’s Woodsy Engagement Session at Dillon Falls

Alexis and Vance!!! I could not be more excited for this wedding if I tried. These two had the most amazing, woodsy engagement session at Dillon Falls here in Bend, Oregon. The relaxed vibe, the gorgeous scenery, and the tangible love between these two made it a swoon-worthy session that pumped me up to see the two of them tie the knot soon! 

The Couple

“My partner Vance and I started dating 5 years ago while we were going to school in Corvallis. I was bartending at Kingfish in Corvallis at the time and he was a customer who liked my music playlist. We started talking about music which gave him an opportunity to ask me on a date. Our first date was to see a Japanese film at the Darkside for the OSU foreign film festival. Spoiler alert: the film Fuchi ni tatsu was terrible first date material as it ends with murder and suicide. He was mortified but it didn’t deter me from wanting to date him.”

I absolutely love hearing about the history my couples share! Alexis and Vance are going to have their wedding at Camp Lane, with a very Wes Anderson-inspired aesthetic. And even though I can’t be there myself to capture their wedding, I’m so excited to have a talented associate there in my place to photograph their day. Dillon Falls

This couple really loves the woods, so of course Dillon Falls was the perfect location for their engagement photos here in Bend. I like to time engagement sessions so that we begin in an open field in the area. Then, when the sun is hitting the opposite side of the river/falls, I take my couple to a great large rock that sits out over the water and get some amazing shots. 

This time, I tried something new and took them out to the road at the very end for some great creative shots I was super excited about! Alexis and Vance were so relaxed and easygoing, and I was so happy that they were willing to try out all these new creative angles with me. Alexis has followed me on Instagram for a couple years, and I was so excited to finally get to photograph her and her love!
