Scott and Emily met in 2013 through their work — and they’ve been basically inseparable since! The two are in Bend nearly every weekend to snowshoe, hike, snowmobile, you name it! Scott proposed to Emily on one of their snowshoe outings here, so they knew they wanted Bend, Oregon engagement photos, too. I couldn’t wait to capture these two lovebirds!

You can see that both of them had a few different options, but stuck to a neutral color palette with either subtle or no patterns! Emily had also just purchased this gorgeous hat from Bespoke Bride in Bend while she was wedding dress shopping (I’m so excited for Scott to see her in that dress!!). 

Sticking to a neutral palette like these two did makes sure that nothing distracts from your gorgeous faces on camera. Plus, if you’re taking your Bend, Oregon engagement photos outside (which you definitely should!), a neutral, complementary palette will make you pop against the beautiful landscapes here in Central Oregon! I loved that Emily brought along her beautiful border collie to make a special appearance in some of the photos, too — pets really are like our babies! I was so excited to catch him with his tongue hanging out, enjoying the adventure with his two humans.

A Chilly Day in Bend

The day we took these engagement photos was much colder than normal for this time of year in Bend! It felt like we went straight from summer to winter, but Emily and Scott were absolute troopers about the whole thing! And looking at these amazing photos, you’d never guess that either of them felt the cold at all. 

With the right person at your side, you really can do anything!! 

I felt like I was catching up with two good friends the whole time I was taking pictures of these two. We stayed well into the blue hour after the sun went down, which I think gives their gallery such a unique touch. The mood was right for Emily and Scott to get cozy and a little more romantic, which I loved.
