Smith Rock Engagement Photos with JJ + Aves
Drive about 40 minutes north of Bend, Oregon and you’ll find yourself surrounded by breathtaking rock formations and miles of beautiful high desert terrain. If you were lucky enough to be there this past September, then you would have also been blessed enough to be in the company of these two fabulous souls! JJ and Aves joined me for engagement photos at Smith Rock State Park, and their session was absolutely electrifying!
The Couple
My husband and I officially met Aves and JJ for the first time during their engagement session here in central Oregon. I loved spending time getting to know our beautiful couple before their wedding in July 2022. I’m so excited to celebrate these two in less than six months!!! It’s officially your wedding year, Aves and JJ, and I am HERE FOR IT!
This crazy beautiful, slightly out of this world engagement shoot location is just outside of Terrebonne.You would have thought the light from the sun was gorgeous enough, but adding in the light that radiates between JJ and Aves, we had pure Smith Rock engagement photo magic! The energy and playfulness that this couple brought to their session was incredible. I felt like I was hanging out with friends I had known for years. I left this session completely on fire for these two, and so excited to get to work with their images!
What to Wear for Engagement Photos (at Smith Rock or anywhere!)
When you’re thinking about your own engagement photos, outfits can be the hardest part! I always recommend that you consider one casual/semi casual or playful outfit, and one outfit that is a little more dressy. I have a style guide I send out with all these suggestions, and I spend a lot of time chatting with you and offering feedback if you send me outfit options! You’ll feel more prepared and comfortable this way, and it’s a great bonding experience between you and I! Here’s some detail on JJ’s outfit (I may or may not have gone shopping after our session because I loved her style so much 😉)
Becoming a wedding photographer here in Bend, Oregon is something I have dreamed of since my husband and I began dating back in 2016.
